Obituary

Dr. Lillian Iris Avner (Lil), D.O., passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 65 in Jensen Beach.

Lil was born March 13, 1952 in Morgantown, West Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University in 1974 with her B.S. in Physical Therapy. Her D.O. was completed at The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980.

Lil was an Emergency Medicine Physician for many decades at Martin Memorial and the Medical Director of the County and City Fire Rescue.

She loved traveling the world, eating delicious food, attending art shows, and being with her family and animals. Lil's life was dedicated to helping people. She was the most loving person, who always put others before herself.

She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Louis and Dorothy Avner of Morgantown, West Virginia. Lil is survived by her daughter Theadora Avner (Thea) of Cullman, Alabama, her son Louis Avner (Daniel) of Tucson, Arizona, and her two grandchildren Isaac and Nathan, along with her sister Marsha Dubbe of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She leaves her two nieces Heather Dubbe-Gradine of Chesapeake, Virginia and Lisa Dubbe-Herbert of Los Angeles, California, her cousin Nahum of Prescott, Arizona, her godson Raleigh Jackson (Jay) of Stuart, Florida and all her friends from Martin Memorial, City and County Fire Rescue, and the community of Martin County.

A Celebration of Her Life will take place October 21, 2017 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Lil's home, 1419 NE Oak Bluff Lane, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957. Please dress casual with bright colors.
