Linda M.
Howard
May 26, 1949 — Dec 16, 2017
Stuart
Linda M. Howard (nee Fuoco) passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the age of 68 after a short, yet courageous battle with liver cancer. Linda "Lala" Howard was born on May 26, 1949 to the late Charlie and Yola Fuoco in New Britain, Connecticut. She was a resident of both, Bristol and Plainville, Connecticut, as well as Stuart, Florida.
Linda was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas. In 1971, Linda married the love of her life, Paul Howard. They settled in Bristol, Connecticut and raised two children, Jeremy and Janelle Howard.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Paul Howard in April 2015. Linda is survived by her children, whom she loved beyond words: her son, Jeremy Howard of Southington, Connecticut and daughter Janelle Howard of Raleigh, North Carolina.
She also leaves behind her loving sister & brother-in-law, Sandy Howard and Harry Howard of Bristol, a special sister-in-law Barbara Tanzi of New Britain, and many nieces and nephews.
Linda worked for many years at New Britain General Hospital and then Bradley Memorial in Southington in medical transcription. Later in life, Linda decided to "snowbird" in Florida, where she made friends everywhere she went. Linda loved to read, dance, take walks, and also do her Daily Word Jumble. Linda loved meeting up with her friends at one of the many social clubs she belonged to in both Connecticut and Florida. She seemed to know everyone's name and had a kind word for each. If you met her, you loved her. Linda was an empathic listener and was a great friend to many. She was the person her friends went to for honest and helpful advice. She had a sharp mind and a quick wit, always ready with a joke. Linda will be remembered by all with a smile on her face.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions as a memorial be made to Twisted Ribbons in memory of Linda Howard, PO Box 8744, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34985-8744 www.twistedribbons.org or to the Animal Rescue Foundation, 366 Main Street, Terryville, Connecticut 06786 .
