Lisa Kay Harshbarger, 59, of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away on March 24, 2019 at the Treasure Coast Hospice center in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, she had been a resident of Jensen Beach for 5 years having previously resided in Manila, Philippines.

She was a graduate of Manchester College and receive her PhD in linguistics from Indiana University.

She worked as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State for 12 years. She served in Washington, DC; Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Kyiv, Ukraine; Budapest, Hungary; and Manila, Philippines.

Survivors include her husband, Jasmir "Jay" Kalajdzic; her son, Haris Kalajdzic; her parents, Richard and Jane Harshbarger; and her brother, Jon Harshbarger.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, Stuart.
