Obituary

Lois Cherwak Greenwell, 89, of Palm City, Florida, died peacefully on April 19, 2014, at Treasure Coast Hospice. Born on February 26, 1925, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Mae and Quinn Sutton.

Lois married George F. Cherwak in 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, and moved their family to Lake Worth, Florida in 1963. She worked for the Palm Glades Girl Scout Council, Cushman Fruit Co., Sherwood Golf Club, and was co-owner of Geri Auto Supply. After George's death in 1988, Lois moved to Palm City, Florida. She then met George W. Greenwell, through Bingo at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. They married in 1998. He preceded her in death in May, 2013.

Lois is survived by three daughters, Diane Pitt (Eddie) of Palm City, Donna Murphy (Joe) of Palm Springs, Florida, and Debby Cherwak, of Daytona Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Lori Starling (Richard), JoAnn Pitt (Tad), Kelley Jones (Mark), Janice McGoldrick, Stacey Rambo (Phil), Gef Cherwak, and Joseph Murphy; eleven great-grandchildren, Ryan (Alexandra), Kayla, Tana, Tess, Thomas, Austin, Elizabeth, Christopher, Patrick, Sarah, and Meagan; one great-great-grandchild, Evelyn Mae; and five step-children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1454 SW Mapp Road, Palm City, on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Contributions as a Memorial may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street., Stuart, Florida 34997.
