Malcolm Norton Crabtree, 90, passed away on February 11, 2014, in Palm City, Florida.

He grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, and he was an Eagle Scout in high school. He served in the Army, in the European Theater during World War II, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He remained in the Reserve and retired as a First Lieutenant.

He graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. His Profession was Architecture, General Contractor, Realtor, Mediator, and Arbitrator.

Malcolm had his own Architecture Firm in Hartford, building schools, hospitals, churches, and residential homes. He and his wife moved to Stuart, Florida, in 1973, where he continued to build up-scale homes. He joined the Realtor Association of Martin County, and was Owner/Broker of the Southland Group for many years.

Malcolm was involved in the following organizations: President, Indiantown Non-Profit Housing; President, Realtor Association of Martin County; President, Martin County Taxpayer's Association; Board member of Martin County Hospital Review; Commodore, Coconut Point Yacht Club; and member of American Legion Post 399, of Palm City.

Malcolm was predeceased by his daughter, Jane, also his brother, John, and sister-in-law, Janet Miller Ward.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Sally Miller Crabtree, and his son, James Norton Crabtree, also his brother, Walter Crabtree (wife Jane), his brother-in-law, Everett B. Miller, Jr. (wife Margaret), nephews, Richard B. Miller (wife Lynn), and Everett B. Miller, III (wife Lyerka), niece, Linda Fuller, also great nephews and nieces, 4 granddaughters, Jennifer, Katie, Courtney, and Tiffany, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Malcolm and Sally were high school sweethearts. They were married almost 68 years. Sally was the love of his life. They worked together and played together, traveling extensively.

The Family would like to express their great appreciation to the Palm City Nursing and Rehab Center for their outstanding care and kindness. They will always be remembered.

A Private Service will be held at a later date in West Hartford, Connecticut.
