Obituary

Margaret Layton Moon, 87 of Stuart, Florida went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2014. She was born on February 10th 1926 in Detroit Michigan.
As an active member of her Stuart Community, Margaret was a member of her church; St. Mary's Episcopal for over 24 years. She served in the Choir, Altar Guild, was a Eucharistic Visitor, a member of Daughters of The King, Cursillistas, a Chalice Bearer, Lay Lector and was part of The Call to Discipleship.
Margaret loved the arts and had an active role in The Barn Theater in the 70's serving as both director and performer in several shows including the role as Mother Superior in the Sound of Music. She served two terms as president in the 80's and continued in her support as an integral part of the Barn's History throughout her life. Margaret blessed many lives in her leadership role in Bible Study Fellowship of Martin County for over a decade and was a member of The Martin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband David Charles Moon and is survived by her brother Allen Layton of Orlando FL, Sister in law Mary Lou Layton of TX, Nephew Charles Layton of TX, "Daughter" Genie Buchanan of Palm City FL, five grandchildren, Cristy (Nathan) Brown, Holly (Marty) Carmody, Steve (Jennifer) Hooks, Kyle (Laurie) Buchanan and Karlyn Cole and seven great grandchildren, Chelsea Barco, Collin Hooks, Lauren Hooks, Julia Hooks, Cooper Carmody, Ashley Carmody and Adam Ehler.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11am, Saturday February 15th at St Mary's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church at 623 East Ocean Boulevard, Stuart Florida 34994. All guests are invited to attend a reception in the courtyard at church immediately following the service.
