Maria Nicosia, 59 of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Alta Villa Irpina, Avellino, Italy, she had been a resident of Port Saint Lucie for more than twenty years, coming from Fairview, New Jersey.

Prior to her illness, Maria was a Property Manager and also worked in the Banking and Accounting fields.

Cooking and being a "Mom" was her passion.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Hicks of Stuart; her son, Eric Hicks also of Stuart; four brothers, Massimo Luciano of Bogota, New Jersey, Anthony Luciano of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, Nicola DeMizio and Davide DeMizio, both of Rotonda West, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardino and Gerarda Luciano.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida, where a Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm. A reception for family and friends will follow on the Funeral home Veranda.
