Obituary

Marjorie Lodigensky, 84, of Palm City, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on June 1, 2015. Born on April 7, 1931 in Kirksville, Missouri, she is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Ralph A. and Alice B. Wilson of Birmingham, Michigan and her late husband of 63 years, Theodore in 2014.

Marge, a 1949 graduate of Baldwin High School, Birmingham, Michigan, attended the Detroit School of the Society of Arts & Crafts where she met her husband Theodore. They were married in 1950 and blessed with four children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She loved spending time with her family and was incredibly creative with interests in cooking, sewing, needlework and beading. She had a passionate sense of adventure and loved exploring new places. As a result, she and Ted made their home in many diverse areas, including Michigan, New York City, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey and Florida. While living in Miami during the 1980's, Marge and Ted discovered Haiti and developed a life-long love for the people, culture and art of this island nation. Many of their dearest friends hailed from Haiti.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marge was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Thomas Knight Lodigensky.

She is survived by her daughter Maya (Gary) Gifford; sons Mark, Theodore Jr, and David (Kristi); grandchildren Carolyn (Chad) Sipperley, Alexandra (Brian) King, Michael (Lindsay) Gifford, Christopher Gifford, Katherine Gifford and Susan (Jeremy) Carrisquillo, Emily Lodigensky , Zachary and Matthew Lodigensky; great grandchildren, John Deshler and Mathew Sipperley and Cameron and Callum King.

In honor of Marge's final wishes, the family will hold a small private celebration of her life. She asked that donations to Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoor.org) or Haiti Earthquake Relief (www.directrelief.org/emergency/haiti/) be made in lieu of flowers or other monetary condolences.
