Marlyn "Kay" Borror, 85 of Stuart Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, FL.

Kay was an authentic person with a very large heart, she was tenacious; resilient; loved to dance; and could throw an amazing party. Her warm, smiling presence made her an easy friend and her giving, caring heart made her a worthy companion.

"Nanny" as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, and "Kay Kay" by her family & friends growing up in Clarksburg, WV was loved, is missed, and will always be remembered.

She was the 8 ^th of 10 children, born in Harrison County Clarksburg, West Virginia. She was a daughter of the late William R. Sharpe, Sr. and Helen Sharpe. Kay was a graduate of Victory High School's Class of 1950, and West Virginia University where she was a Miss Alpha Xi Delta and 1 ^st Runner-Up for the Miss West Virginia Pageant.

As a new teacher in Arlington, Virginia she by fate met her husband of 59 years, who precedes her in death Ronald "Ron" Gene Borror, also a native of Clarksburg, WV. They met through a mutual friend at a popular venue in Clarksburg called, The Click Club. Together they raised three children: Lisa, Susie, and Scott.

Kay & Ron owned and operated a premier gymnastics studio, Karons Gymnastics Center in Fairfax, Virginia that opened in 1973; and would stay in operation under various owners for the next three decades closing in 2007. In 1983, they moved to Florida for the sunny weather and Ron worked for Kay's sister and brother-in-law's family business, Mosley Construction. In Stuart, Kay found the warm weather she was seeking and had the opportunity to also show Martin County the warmth of her incredible heart.

Drawn to the YMCA's mission: Building Strong Kids, Strong Families, and Strong Communities Kay joined the YMCA of the Treasure Coast; originally the YMCA of Martin County upon moving to Florida. For the next thirteen years, she would serve as the Y's Senior Director and would help take a fledgling Y- located in a small store-front space in the Stuart Center on U.S. 1 to the YMCA you know today.

She played an important role in beginning and nurturing the YMCA Easter House project; the YMCA 9-1 Dance; and the YMCA Benihana Celebrity Chef Cook-Off. She had a strong impact on the lives of so many people throughout her tenure and helped many Martin County children by establishing the United Way's White Doves Christmas Project, and the annual Friendship Boxes of school supplies. Many of these projects are still going strong today—with the Easter House in it's 31 ^st year.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kelley and husband Kevin (of Littleton, CO), daughter Susie Hadley Beddow and husband Patrick Beddow (of Mt. Jackson, VA) and former spouse Barry Hadley (of Strasburg, VA); son Scott Borror and former wife Scottie Borror (of Stuart, FL); 9 grandchildren: Heather Merchant and husband Chris (of Winchester, VA), Erin Kelley (of Denver, CO) , Hope Petty and husband Travis (of Linden, VA) , Molly Kelley (of Raleigh, NC) , Rick Hadley (of Woodstock, VA) , Matthew Kelley (of Santa Barbara, CA) , Richard Borror (of Jensen Beach, FL), Brittany Borror (of Jensen Beach, FL) , and Brooke Borror (of Jensen Beach, FL); 3 Great-Grandchildren, and her sister Rebecca Sue Mosley and husband Gary (of Stuart, FL); and sister-in-law Charlotte Sharpe (of Stuart, FL). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives; and friends.

She loved 1 Corinthians 13:13, "Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love."
