Marvin Duane Schrader, 83, of Hobe Sound, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, Florida, as he chose.

Born in Monona, Iowa, he had been a Florida resident since 1972, coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He was a combat veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving honorably with the United States Army.

A Chemist, Marvin owned and/or founded several businesses in Minneapolis; moving to Islamorada, Florida after selling his tavern, billiard hall, and asphalt paving/snow removal firms. While in Islamorada, he became a commercial crab man, a wholesale sea biscuit harvester, and was the owner of shell/souvenir/sea shops. Marvin was also a member and Past president of the Lions Club International Chapter while living in Islamorada.

Relocating to the Treasure Coast, he became the Pastor of the First United Methodist of Indiantown, studying at the Emory School of Theology. Marvin was also the President of the Habitat for Humanity of Western Martin County, the President of Emergency Preparedness of the Red Cross of Indiantown, and was on the Board of Advisors of Warfield Elementary School in Indiantown. After retirement, he turned his energies to crafting and leading Bible Studies.

He is survived by his beloved son, Marko Schrader and his wife, Tina, of Nashville, North Carolina; four grandsons, Caleb, Aven, Jacob, and Jonah; his sweetheart and better half, Judith Villwock, of Hobe Sound; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helga.
