Garber, Mary Francis (Catena) age 76, died on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Stuart, Fl where she was surrounded by her family. Mary grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She taught school at St. Phillips in Columbus for several years and then became an administrative assistant for Veterans Memorial and Hilton Hotels, both in Columbus. For the last 27 years Mary made her home in Stuart, FL. Mary loved the warmth of Florida and,in earlier years, worked part- time at Publix Supermarket.
She was a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, her sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. She is preceded in death by her husband, James S. Garber; parents Anthony and Margaret Catena; and sister, Nancy J. Catena. Survived by sister Antoinette (Scott) Roe of Wadsworth, Il.; children, Thomas Garber, Karen Garber, and Aimee (Thomas) Morrell; grandchildren Anthony and Hannah Garber, Zakary Bray and Taylor Morrell; niece Mary-Margaret (Jeff) Svihra; aunts, Theresa Nardone and Ruth Bianco. A special service for family and friends will be held in Columbus, Ohio at a later date.
