Mary Elizabeth (Hollibaugh) Rasmussen

Mary (Bette) Elizabeth (Hollibaugh) Rasmussen, 93, of Fort Pierce, FL; Adrian, Michigan and Devils Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, FL. She was born March 13, 1920 to Ralph W. and Elizabeth Calvert Hollibaugh in Creston, Iowa. Her Husband Milton Hans Peter Rasmussen preceded her in death on December 9, 2013.
Bette graduated from Southwestern College and was an accomplished soprano and home economics major. During WWII, Bette worked for Boeing in their accounting department. Bette met Milton at a USO dance and they were married on June 30, 1943 in Winfield, Kansas. They were married over 70 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer R. Kopke (Michael) of Waveland Mississippi; son, David A. Rasmussen (Janice Williams) Caseville, Michigan; daughter, Kristen Rasmussen Scott, Vero Beach, FL; four granddaughters, one grandson, and four great-grandchildren.
Bette was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She helped Milton with his companies while caring for three children each seven years apart. Bette was very passionate about cooking, baking and presenting food with style. She loved making family members favorite meals and desserts for special occasions. Bette enjoyed dancing, bridge, WJR am radio and Michigan Wolverine Football.
A Memorial Service and Celebration is being planned for both Milton & Bette on July 4, 2014 at Devils Lake, Michigan.
