Maurice A. Williams' Obituary
Maurice A. Williams, 78, of Jensen Beach, Florida passed away, Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Martin Memorial Hospital North in Stuart, Florida.
Born in Sanford, Maine, he had been a resident of Jensen Beach for sixteen years, coming from Wells, Maine.
He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He worked as a supervisor in the Nuclear Submarine Program at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard located in Kittery, Maine for thirty years.
Prior to retirement, he and his wife were the owners and innkeepers of the Puffin Inn in Ogunquit, Maine for twenty years.
Affectionately known as "Poppa" by his grandchildren, he is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Leona M. Williams, one son, Scott D. Williams and his wife, Debbie of Wells, Maine, one daughter, Sandra L. Hart and her husband, Jerry of Jensen Beach, Florida, one brother, Lionel Williams and his wife, Priscilla of Sanford, Maine, his four grandchildren, Brandon, Adam, Alexandria and Catherine, and many nieces and nephews. Also, he leaves behind his admired and loved mother-in-law, Eloise Rodrigue, his sister-in-law, Jaclyn Langlois and husband Robert of Stuart, Florida, a brother-in-law, Daniel Ouellette and wife Gail of Springvale, Maine, sister-in-law, Roberta Williams of Sanford, Maine, and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Saint Martin de Poores Catholic Church, 2555 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.
Interment with Military Honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard will be at the convenience of the family at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
