Michael Shawn Cashwell, 56, passed away on June 15, 2026.

Born in Stuart, Florida, Mike lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family, friends, and community. He spent 15 years proudly serving with the Martin County Sheriff's Office, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and those he served. Prior to his law enforcement career, Mike was the owner and operator of Mike Cashwell Marine Refinishing, a successful yacht refinishing business that reflected his craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit.

Outside of his professional life, Mike had a love for the outdoors, and was an avid hunter. He had a lifelong passion for muscle cars and was also an enthusiastic football fan. His hobbies brought him great enjoyment and created lasting memories with family and friends.

Mike's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Kathi Cashwell; his son, Michael Cashwell; his granddaughters Arabella Cashwell and Lunessa Cashwell; father Larry Cashwell; mother Norma Cashwell; brother Chris Humphrey; and sister Melanie Rodriguez. The love he shared with his family and the memories they created together will remain a lasting source of comfort and strength.

Mike will be remembered for his loyalty, sense of humor, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial visitation will be held on June 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart FL 34997 with a funeral service at 2 pm.
