IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Glen
Golden
April 15, 1958 – January 9, 2026
Michael Glen Golden, 67, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 9, 2026, in Stuart, Florida. He was born on April 15, 1958, in Duncan, Oklahoma, and spent much of his life rooted in family, ultimately making his home in Roswell, Georgia.
Michael was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Golden; his son Christopher Golden and his wife Amy Golden; his son Zachary Golden and his life partner Rachel; and by his cherished grandson Leo. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Golden, and sister-in-law Stacey Golden, and his mother, Jacqueline Golden. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Joe Friend Golden.
To those who knew him, Michael was the steady presence — a patriarch in the truest sense — someone whose love was expressed through loyalty, responsibility, and unwavering support for his family. He took great pride in the life he built and the people he loved, and his influence will continue to be felt through generations.
Michael dedicated his professional life to a decades-long career in telecommunications, serving across the Bell Telephone family of companies and later with AT&T. Beginning in a small office in Holdenville, Oklahoma, and later working out of the Midtown Atlanta office. His passion for communications networking and his strong work ethic took him throughout the Southeast.
Mike had a deep love for life's curiosities and simple joys. He loved all things sports and was an accomplished golfer, proudly having recorded his sixth hole-in-one. He also enjoyed tinkering and figuring out how things worked and had a playful fascination with the mysteries of the unknown—often searching for Bigfoot or debating the possibility of aliens. He was also the ultimate Halloween host, delighting in creating moments of fun,
laughter, and unforgettable memories for family and friends. His sense of humor, curiosity, and enthusiasm brought people together and made every gathering feel special.
Michael's passing leaves a profound absence, but his memory remains woven into the lives he shaped and the family bonds he strengthened. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The Golden family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Viraj Master and the exceptional physicians, nurses, caregivers, and staff at Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Through Dr. Master's leadership and the remarkable team he assembled, Michael received extraordinary care marked by skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment. From 2010 through 2026, Michael faced cancer with courage and gratitude, giving thanks for each day he was given. Cancer did not define him, nor did it defeat him — he had been joyfully diagnosed cancer-free for more than a year — and he met every chapter with resilience, supported by a devoted medical team and the enduring love of his family. We are forever indebted to Winship for the gift of time — not just time spent together, but time truly lived.
