Michael Patrick Horrell, of Palm City, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, June 19 ^th , 2018, peacefully, in the company of his family.

Mike was born February 3 ^rd , 1941 in Salina, Kansas, to Maurice Horrell and Vivian Tyler Horrell, one of five children. He received his degree from Kansas State University's nascent Nuclear Engineering program.

He is survived by his devoted wife Janiece; his sons David, Steven and daughter-in-law Kate, and Christopher and daughter-in-law Martine, seven grandchildren, and sisters Marianne and Judy.

Mike's hobbies included scuba diving, photography, and windsurfing, though he was proudest of his fifty-five year marriage. After retiring from a fifty-six year career as a nuclear engineer, he volunteered with Martin County Homework Helpers as well as Meals on Wheels. Mike was known for his sense of humor, which he maintained up to the end.
