.Michael Patrick Vigilante, Jr., 75 of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Treasure Coast hospice House in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey, he had been a resident of Port Saint Lucie for 14 years, coming from Hackettstown, New Jersey, by way of Coral Springs, Florida, where he had been the Fire Chief of Coral Springs for ten years. Prior to his retirement, he was the Superintendent of the Morris County Parks and Recreation Department in Morris County, New Jersey.

Mike was a Veteran serving in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sandra M. Vigilante, of Port Saint Lucie; four sons, Christopher Vigilante, of Port Saint Lucie, Michael Vigilante, of Parsippany, New Jersey, and Tony Vigilante, of East Hanover, New Jersey; two daughters, Gina Vigilante-Rousset, of Wharton, New Jersey, and Nicole Vigilante-Hanley, of Jensen Beach, Florida; three brothers, Joseph, Patrick, and Johnny Vigilante; three sisters, Kathryn Ferrera, Marlene Smith, and Mildred Rotsides; four grandchildren, Marine LCPL Michael C. Martino, Jr., Gabriella Gina Hanley, Sarah Forbes, and Ashley Nieves; and several nieces and nephews.

A Service to Celebrate His Life will be held Friday, August 29th at 11:00 am at the Grace Emanuel Church, 707 Kitterman Road, Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34952 (772-489-9696), with Military Honors and Presentation of the Flag following the Church Service.

Contributions as a Memorial may be made to the family at his late residence.
