Milton N. Ives Jr., 85, of Stuart, FL., passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Milt was born on September 23, 1937 in Waterbury, CT. to Milton N. Ives, Sr. and Kathryn (Heady) Ives.
In 1960, Milt served in the U.S. Army for two yrs. in Okinawa, Japan where he met and married his wife, Tomiko Higa from Okinawa.
Milt and Tomi returned to the U.S. in 1962 where they raised their 5 children, Tami, Dale, Debbie, Donna and Doug in Wolcott, CT.
Milt retired from Carlingswitch company in Hartford, CT. and Stuart, FL. His title was Product Manager and switch inventor. He proudly holds many patents of switches invented and designed with President Richard Sorenson.
After residing in CT all his life, making many forever friendships, Milt and Tomi moved to Florida. They enjoy his retirement traveling, taking cruises together and making many cherished family memories with their children and grandchildren. He had a life long enjoyment of fishing in CT and FL. with family and a great group of friends. His love of golf was enjoyed up until his very lasts days. His laughter, smiles and love of family, friends and life will always be remembered.
Milt is survived by his loving wife Tomiko, of 60 years, sisters Carol Bertrand of FL. and Barbara Braun of AL., daughters, Tami Ives (Tom Nagy) of CT., Donna (Richard) Mourfield of FL., son Doug Ives of FL., five grandchildren, Arika, Dane, Ian, Morgan, Ethan, one great-granddaughter Olivia and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dale M. Ives and daughter Deborah S. Ives.
Milt's wishes were to be laid to rest in CT. beside Dale and Debbie during a private family gathering at a later date.
