Obituary

Myron (Mike) Granius passed away at his home in Stuart, FL April 27th 2018. He was born on a farm in Duval, WI on February 4th, 1935 to John and Anna Granius where he lived a true Tom Sawyer childhood. The family eventually settled in Green Bay, WI where Mike excelled in boxing at SS Peter and Paul Catholic School.

He joined the US Army in 1953 and served until 1957. He was a member of the 101st  Airborne Division's "Screaming Eagles" and was stationed in Japan. When asked what he was going to do after he got out he replied, "I'm going to go home and marry a redhead", which he did on April 26 th , 1958 when he married his crush, Loretta.

Loretta and Mike went on to have four children; Brenda, David, Marty and Jennifer.  The family relocated to Florida in 1973, first to Port St. Lucie and then to Stuart in 1974, where he and Loretta have resided for the last 44 years.

Mike was a highly skilled and respected welder and pipefitter by trade. He became a master of his craft and a mentor to the many people with whom he worked over the years. He was a member of local 298 in Green Bay, WI and Local 630 in West Palm Beach. FL.

Mike loved his family, boating, fishing, traveling, reading, and his Harley.

Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta, with whom he celebrated their 60 th Anniversary one day before his passing; His four children: Brenda (David) Jones, David (Carey) Granius, Marty Granius and Jennifer Lipscomb; Five grandchildren: Tara, Katie, Jake, Charlie and Jack. One great grandchild: Kaitlyn and one brother, Carlton (Bonnie) Granius and their three sons, Mark, Todd and Jesse. He also had a strong support system of beloved friends and extended family members. He was most proud of his family and the legacy he helped to build.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Mike's name to a veterans charitable organization of choice.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5 PM to 9 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration Of Life Service to begin at 6 PM.   Military honors will be provided by the US Army
