Nancy Carter Bolk, (93), of Stuart, Florida passed away on February 11, 2026 in Stuart, Florida.
She was born in Goffstown, NH, she lived in Manchester, NH and Northport, New York, before retiring to Stuart, FL.
Mrs. Bolk was the daughter of the late Hazel Mae Courtney Carter and James T Carter. She was preceded in death by her brother James Carter and her sister Sally K. Ball.
Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Herbert W. "Pete" Bolk.
Nancy is survived by their children, Carol Stegmaier, Donna Bolk, Debra (Edward) Sganga, and Gary (Christine) Bolk, her grandchildren, Kristen Gulino, Ryan(Erica) and Kimberly Bolk, Edward, Everett, and Emily Sganga,and Keith Stegmaier; and her great-granddaughter, Lyra Stegmaier. She is also survived by her twin sister, Priscilla(Barbara Boses)Carter, sister-in-law, Mary C. Stephens, and many nieces and nephews.
Prior to her retirement, Nancy, who was very talented, worked as cake decorator, designing and decorating cakes and being a manager of Baskin and Robbins, she was a craft instructor, in the design center and classroom at Lee Wards. She was a dedicated Home Health Aide. Nancy served as a Girl Scout Co-Leader, organizing many activities for the troop to participate and earn their badges. She was a Sunday School teacher, for a number of years at the First Presbyterian Church of Northport in New York. Nancy worked as an Operator/ Receptionist for Michigan Telephone and also worked as a Long Distance operator and switchboard operator for the local telephone companies in Northport and Huntington, NY.
Nancy enjoyed volunteering and helping out at the Polls for the Elections. She loved Bike riding and participated in a number of Bike-a-thons for different charities.
When she retired to Florida, she continued her crafts, crocheting for many friends and family, afghans and stuffed animals. She was a Co-Queen of the Red Hat Ladies in her community.
Nancy loved helping wherever she was needed and was proud to be a Pheresis Donor especially for babies in need.
