Nelson K. Stephens peacefully passed on 1/20/2022 in Stuart, FL after a 6-year battle with cancer. Nelson was 73 at the time of his death. He was a lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley who found his paradise in FL with his wife, who was the love of his life & with whom he enjoyed 33 years of marriage. Second only to his family, was his love of all things at any and every beach. Nelson was a graduate of Hellertown High School and was a Vietnam War Veteran, having served from 1966-1970. Nelson was employed at Ingersoll-Rand until they closed, and then employed as a Union Electrician with IBEW Local 375 until his retirement in 2009. After his retirement he could easily be found lugging his surf fishing poles to the beach, getting coffee at a Wawa or eating lunch at one of the many clubs he was a member of-especially the American Legion in Jensen Beach FL and the Citizens Hose Company in Easton PA. Nelson exited this world surrounded by love and at peace. He was predeceased by father-Norman K. Stephens, mother-Phyllis Jacoby, and sister-Rebecca Ann. He is survived by wife, Susan (Silfies); daughter-Nancie Fetter-wife of Michael; 5 grandchildren: Nicole, Kimberly, Matthew, John, and Michael; 2 sisters-Donnalee of Durham NC, and Nelda Oswald of Ft. Myers FL; sister-in-law Barbara Silfies of Macungie PA, brother-in-law Donald Silfies & his wife Susan of Lehighton PA. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews. No services are planned, however contributions to a charity of ones choosing are welcomed.
