Obituary

Ollie Mae Hodge, 84, of Stuart, Florida, peacefully entered the loving arms of her lord and savior surrounded by family at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, on Friday, January 15th 2016. Beloved wife, mother of three, grandmother of three, great grandmother of two, sister, and friend.

Ollie was born May 27, 1931 at home in Milburn, Kentucky, to the late Kye and Nora Nichols.

She studied education and received her Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. She worked in the Clintondale School system for twenty-nine years, most of which she was an elementary school principal. She also served on the Macomb Intermediate School District Board and the Macomb County School Employees Credit Union Board of Directors.

She spent her youth in Milburn, Kentucky with seven sisters and three brothers and moved to Troy, Michigan, pursuing her education, where she meet the love of her life Jack Hodge and married. They spent their lives in Utica, Michigan and raised three children together. After Jack passed she later moved to Tropical Isles senior community in Fort Pierce, Florida, during this time in her life she met Robert Hron who would be her partner, friend and soul mate for twenty-two years. The two of them entertained people in Saint Lucie and Martin counties with their music and wonderful voices, until he was called to the Lord. She also resided at Harbor Place in Port Saint Lucie and the last four years of her life she lived and played at Allegro senior living in Stuart, Florida.

Ollie had an irrepressible spirit and love for her friends and family. She found great joy in getting people together for fellowship, happy hour, and a friendly poker game.

Ollie is survived by son Jack (Patricia) Hodge, Daughter Kimberly Makled, Grand children Matthew Hodge, Garrett (Melissa) Swanson, and Bradley (Kacy) Swanson. Great Grand children Garrett Swanson and Ayla Swanson. She is also survived by her sisters Mertie Farrow and Sue Johnson and many loving nephews, nieces and friends.

Ollie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Hodge, Sr., in 1978, first born son, Bronzel, her parents, and best friend and partner, Robert Hron.

A Memorial Service will be held at Allegro Senior Living, 3400 SE Aster Lane, Stuart, Florida 34994 with the date and time to be announced.
