Otto Schubel, age 85, passed away in Umatilla, Florida surround by his family on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Otto was born on August 1, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan to Gladys and Harry Schubel. He was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in business.  Otto spent his life building a legacy as both a contractor and business owner of Otto Schubel Builder.  Otto was an avid life-long golfer recognized throughout Lansing and the surrounding areas.  He held more than 30 golf titles spanning over 20 years including awards from Lansing All-City Championships, country club invitationals and municipal titles.  Otto volunteered with the Red Cross and gave to several charities over his lifetime.  He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, doing what he loved.

Otto will be remembered as a loyal friend, ardent golfer, lover of the outdoors, and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Gladys and Harry Schubel, his sisters Arlene Volkert and Marian Dilloway, his brother Robert Schubel, and his daughter Sheree Rexford.  He is survived by his daughters Carolyn (Eric) Caldwell and Loree Porter, his grandchildren Corey (Julie) Huffine, Ryan Porter, Claire Caldwell and Hailey Caldwell, and his great grandchildren Brooks Huffine and Blakeley Huffine.

Funeral Services will be held June 7, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home in Stuart, Florida and a service will be held in Lansing, Michigan at a future date.
