Ottomar Wilhelm Eckardt, 86, of Palm City, Florida, died Saturday, March 29, 2015 at his home.
Born in Marktredwitz, Germany, he had been a resident of Palm City since 2013, coming from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Prior to his retirement, he was a full professor at the University of Massachusetts, teaching math and engineering.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna Eckardt, of Palm City,, and his faithful canine companion, Lilli.
Services and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
Contributions as a Memorial may be made to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, Inc. , 4100 SW Leighton Farm Avenue, Palm City, Florida 34990.
