Obituary

Pamela Jean Shanks of Stuart, Florida was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 14, 2022.  She was 68 years old.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother or Memaw as her grandkids so affectionately called her.  She was born to Robert and Betty Little on July 25 th , 1953, in a small farming town of Wabash, Indiana.  Her family moved to Columbus, Indiana where she grew up alongside her older brother Ronald Little.  It was here in Columbus that she met the love of her life Randy Shanks.  Pam and Randy were high school sweethearts, both attending Columbus High School and were married on December 29, 1972.  Shortly after, they moved to Jacksonville, Florida and gave birth to their first child, Randall D. Shanks, Jr., lovingly referred to as "Little Randy".  Although he only lived three short months, the impact "Little Randy" had on his family was lasting and continues to this day.

Pam is survived by her loving and devoted husband Randy, her father Robert E. Little, her daughter Lynsie Guest, son-in-law Robert, grandchildren Joshua, Emilie and Sarah.  She is also survived by her brother Ron, his wife Dawn and nephews Ryan & Robert Little.

Born to a family of farmers, Pam learned very quickly the value of hard work and how to deal with life's uncertainties with love and grace.  Pam worked in many different work environments.  From appraisal and medical offices to major call centers and even to a local grocery store.  Wherever she worked, she was always recognized for her amazing work ethic and exceptional people skills.  She was always placed in positions of leadership as a result and received many awards of recognition because of her service.

More than anything Pam was known to her family and friends as a woman of great faith and amazing kindness.  Married to Randy for nearly 50 years, the two of them built an amazing life together.  Wherever they called home, whether in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Columbus or Stuart, it was evident to all who knew them that they loved each other deeply and loved the Lord even more.  Their lives weren't without their share of heartache and trial.  Yet because of their love of Jesus and each other, they were able to persevere and grow stronger as a result.

Pam owned whatever role the Lord chose to give her with passion and grace.  Whether it is was daughter, wife, Memaw, neighbor, friend or co-worker.  Pam took each role with great importance and care, especially the role of Memaw.  Pam absolutely loved being a grandmother to her three grandkids, Joshua, Emilie and Sarah.

Pam was a light to all who knew her.  She gave of herself so sacrificially.  She loved the Lord deeply and she loved her family fervently.  All who knew her and called her friend were blessed beyond measure.

A celebration of her life will be held at Coastal Life Church in Palm City, Florida on Saturday, February 26 at 10:30 in the morning with a reception to follow.
