Patricia Joan (Lanigan) Coonrad, 94, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. Born in Troy, New York to Miriam & Thomas Lanigan, Patricia graduated from Lansingburgh High School class of 1948. In 1950, she married Charles Ogden Coonrad, and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years together, building a life full of love and memories until his passing in 2012.
Patricia was a dedicated and hardworking individual, having retired in 1974 after 30 years with General Motors Acceptance Corp. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Patricia was an active volunteer, giving her time to numerous organizations including the American Red Cross Gray Ladies of Rensselaer County, Troy Catholic Charities, the American Cancer Society, and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives. She had a deep passion for both gardening and staying active. Well into her later years, she continued to lead the water aerobics classes at her community pool, inspiring others with her energy and enthusiasm.
Patricia and Charles made their home in Waterford, NY, and cherished their summers spent at their camp at Babcock Lake. In 1989, they transitioned to Sebastian, Florida, where Patricia continued to live until moving to Palm Beach Gardens in 2018.
Patricia is survived by her nieces Eryn Grill (Don), Kyle Stone (Kelly), Christine Coonrad, Carol Coonrad; nephews Robert Perry, Timothy Coonrad, Jay Coonrad (Nancy), Robert Coonrad (Debbie), David Coonrad (Robin); and a host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition, her dear friend Martha Lustbader, who was a special part of her life for the past 5 years. Patricia was also preceded in death by her sister Colleen Lanigan Perry and nieces Michele Perry and Linda Coonrad Hofheinz.
Patricia's warmth, compassion, and devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
