Obituary

Paul Eugene Gaeke, age 74, resident of Hobe Sound, Florida, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Martin Memorial Hospital, North, in Stuart, Florida.

He grew up in Dayton, Ohio the oldest son of Paul George Gaeke and Anne McCloskey Gaeke. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton. He served in the United States Army as an Artillery Officer, ROTC Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Paul is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Serving one tour of duty in Vietnam, as well as overseas duty in South Korea. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. Paul received his MBA from University of Saint Francis in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Paul was a serial entrepreneur and active member of the Defiance, Ohio community for over 35 years. He was an active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Defiance, also serving charitable organizations and board committees.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sharon Gaeke, three children: Paul Matthew Gaeke, Christine Gaeke Torrence, Tess Gaeke, and deceased daughter, Susan Gaeke. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Cassie Torrence, Hayes Torrence, Paul JS Gaeke, Grace Gaeke and Ryan Gaeke. Paul also leaves behind two sisters, Jerrie Gaeke Foster, and Betty Gaeke Schmiedt, and deceased brother Albert Gaeke.

Paul lived a full life and did amazing things with the gifts the Lord gave him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 10:30 am at St. Christopher Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida 33455.
