Peter J. Murphy, 85 of Port Saint Lucie, Florida and formerly of Craryville, New York passed away January 17, 2018 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Violet; loving children, Margaret, Teresa, Daniel and Colleen; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, James, grandson, Lee McDarby, and granddaughter, Kayla Marie Daigle.

Peter had been a counselor at Berkshire Farms School for Boys in Canaan, New York.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion in Port Saint Lucie.

Peter was also an avid fisherman and President of Spanish Lakes Fishing Club.
