Ray Herman Carter, Jr., 88 of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away April 15, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, FL.
Born March 31, 1929 in Hammond, IN he was the son of Ray Herman and Anna Julia (Villadsen) Carter-Wayne. He has resided in Port St. Lucie coming from Edwardsburg, MI and Indiana, PA.
Ray served in the United States Air Force post World War II from June 1946 until July 1949.
He worked as an electrician for various companies during his career. He was also a mechanic, truck driver and a talented artist.
Ray was a car enthusiast and was a drag car racer in the quarter mile in his younger days. His hobby and interest in cars included building hot rods. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger days and was always outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Carter; a daughter, Debra Cox (Mark); a son, Wayne Carter (Dawn); brothers, Robert and Gordon (Jill) Carter; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by two infant sons and an infant granddaughter.
Ray preferred to not have funeral services, a private family memorial will be performed at a later date.
