Richard "Rick" E. Agnew died at Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL on July 14, 2013. Raised on Long Island, Rick had a lengthy caddie career from age 13 to 20, and was on the golf team at Chaminade High School and Manhattan College. After graduation, he entered the Insurance business as a Property & Casualty Underwriter for the Insurance Company of North America (lNA), in New York City. Seven years later he switched to the Agency side in Long Island for 12 years, and then accepted an offer of partnership in a Greenwich, CT firm, where he became sole owner in 1988. His firm handled Life & Health, Property & Casualty for 2000 Personal and Commercial clients. He served as President of the Insurance Board of Greenwich. In 1981 he joined Burning Tree CC in Greenwich, CT, and served on that Board for nine years, and held the Chairs of Greens, Admissions, Administration, and President. He was also a Board Member of the Westchester Senior Golf Association. He lived at Harbour Ridge Yacht & CC in Palm City, FL for 13 years, where he served on the Board of Directors as Chair of Golf and Greens, and was a past President of Mariner Village. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Dolores, daughters Kate Sullivan and Beth Rosenblum, son-in-law Michael Rosenblum, granddaughters Caroline and Emma Sullivan, and Anna and Ashley Rosenblum, brothers Donald Agnew, and Jeffrey Agnew, and sister Suzanne Steele. A Funeral Mass will take place at the Basilica of St. John in Stamford, CT at a later date.
