Richard F Fenton, 73, of Palm City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was a 1963 graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy, receiving a Naval Commission.
He served in the Merchant Marines for two years, followed by a 33 year engineering career with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
Richard was a man of many interests including golf, woodworking, marathon running, genealogy, astronomy, skiing to name a few.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Joanne; children, Julie Fenton, of Palm City, and Rick, of Wellington, Florida; daughter-in-law, Leslie, also of Wellington; his siblings, Edward Fenton, of Jacksonville, Florida, Carole McCarthy, of Andover, Massachusetts, and Jack Fenton, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and grandchildren, Megan & Dylan Fenton.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 1454 SW Mapp Road, Palm City, Florida 34990.
