Richard Dallas Purkey, known as "Purk" to his friends, went to be in his final resting place in heaven on September 28, 2016. He was born on June 20, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Purk leaves behind three sons to carry on his legacy; Victor and his wife Becky, Steve, Brian and his wife Cheryl, sister, Patricia Zeamer of Silver Springs, Maryland, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He moved to Stuart from Miami after retiring from the City of Miami Fire Department in 1974. He started the company "All Ways Clean" which is now owned and operated by Victor and his family. He also ran the Greyhound bus station in the 1970's.
He was a retired Coast Guard and Navy veteran.
Purk had the opportunity to travel the world; he loved fishing of any type and spent many hours with his fishing pole on the beach.
He will be remembered by his family as the man who was "ageless" as he would always tell them.
The celebration of life will be held at The Grace Place Church, 1550 SE Salerno Road on Friday October 14, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice House of The Treasure Coast.
