Rita Ann Rens, 76, of Stuart, Florida passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart.

Born in Morris, Minnesota, she had been a resident of Stuart for four months, coming from Lennox, South Dakota.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Wells Fargo Bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was a member of the Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, where she taught Bible School and was a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-four years, Dennis K. Rens of Stuart; three daughters, Jullie Blair and her husband, Ronald of Palm City, Florida, Lisa Crumpton and her husband, Andy of Prosperity, South Carolina, and Melissa Rens of Charlotte, North Carolina; her son-in-law, John Peterson of Brookings, South Dakota; one brother, John Mellett and his wife, Jeannie of Edina, Minnesota; one sister, Kathy Bucholz and her husband, Jim of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and seven grandchildren, Jessica, Brock, Jordan, Erin, Cassidy, Ivy, and Gabriel.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. Denise Peterson and her brother, Bob Mellett.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held in at a later date in South Dakota.
