Rita Mae Rakip, 87, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart
Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she had been a resident of Stuart for twenty-nine years. She was an active resident of Ocean Palms, where she could be seen dancing every Friday afternoon for the past three years.
During her working career, she served the community for thirty-five years as a licensed practical nurse. She was an avid reader and she loved to paint, dance, and listen to music.
She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Ally E. Rakip, who passed away in 1969.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Uhl and her husband, Karl of Stuart and Catherine Rakip of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She has two grandchildren, Lisa Wilson and Jessica Gardner; and three great grandchildren, Jordan and Emma Wilson and Jada Gardner.
A graveside service will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ayer, Massachusetts. A celebration of her life will be held in Stuart at a later date.
The family requests that contributions as a memorial be made in Rita's memory to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 101 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997.
