Robert E. Cline, 76, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Emerald Health Care Center in Port Saint Lucie.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, May 28, 1939, he was the son of Emmett and Marion (Probst) Cline. Bob earned his Doctorate in Educational Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 1975, and retired from the Rockford, Illinois School District after 34 years of service as a school psychologist. Bob also maintained a private practice for many years as a clinical neuropsychologist.

Bob's passions included boating, snowmobiling, and spending time at his cottage on Pier Lake in Oneida County, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Diane (Everett); five children, Russell (Dyanne) Cline of Byron Illinois, Scott of Loves Park Illinois, Sandy (Mike) Young of Port Saint Lucie, Terri (Steve) Long of Machesney Park, Illinois, and Shawn (Krista) of West Lafayette Indiana; sister Betty Hamlin of Machesney Park, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; Kevin, Eric, David, Amy and Keith Cline, Leah, Kenny and Ryan Long, and Camden, Brenner, Schafer, Bryton, and Kessler Cline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Benford Hamlin.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida, with a Reception for family and friends following in the Reception Area and on the Veranda of the Funeral Home. A service to be held in the Rockford, Illinois area will be announced at a later date.
