Robert B. Colburn's Obituary
Robert B. Colburn, III, 65, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Fort Pierce.
He was born in Southampton, New York, on June 23, 1949.
Bob was an avid golfer. He was previously a member of Indian Hills Country Club in Newington, Connecticut, and most recently a member of Gator Trace Golf and Country Club in Fort Pierce.
Bob earned his Master of Science Degree from Central Connecticut State College in 1982. He was employed by the Middletown Board of Education as a teacher in Middletown, Connecticut for thirty-five years prior to his retirement in 2008.
He leaves his wife of twenty-eight years, Joan ; his mother, Dalene; daughter, Sarah; his sisters and their spouses, Chrissie and Bob Nardy, of Southampton, and Connie and David Hanson Winfield, II; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth. He also leaves three stepchildren, Victoria Scruggs, Doug Kilham, and Jessica Kilham.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his brother, David.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, Connecticut on Friday, June 5th at 1:00 pm. There will also be a gathering of friends at Gator Trace in Fort Pierce on June 22nd.
In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
