Obituary

Robert Leland Johns, 83 Of Palm City, Florida passed over the Rainbow Bridge Oct 23,2018.

Born in Stuart, Florida to Arnita and R. Cecil Johns  in the old home housing Casa Bella Restaurant. He is predeceased by his 2 brothers Harold and Ronald Johns.

Lee grew up in Stuart going to Martin County High School  where he was senior letterman and hitter for the Martin County Tigers graduating 1953.  He then went to the University of Mississippi....graduating in Geology then going into the United States Navy rising to the rank of Lt. Commander.  While still in the Navy he attended   the University of West Florida graduating in  accounting and becoming a CPA.

Lee then came back to Stuart where he became a partner with Wallace Fletcher- they had Fletcher and Johns Certified Public Accountants  .  Wally Fletcher retired and Lee partnered with Ken Odom and the firm became  Johns , Odom & Associates.   That firm was sold out in 1986 to Hill, Barth and King.   At which time Lee retired.

He got involved with the Stuart Heritage Museum..The Old Stuart Feed Store in down town Stuart.  He absolutely loved volunteering on Tuesdays  and helping whenever needed.

Lee loved his DooWop music,  he excelled at and enjoyed jitterbugging.   In 1975 he began a relationship with Pam Boswell.  They both enjoyed their horse ranch Rancho Puesta del Sol where they raised and showed Peruvian Horses. He love showing his gelding  JORGE  or his mare La Fantasia...

His Dogs... Great Danes and English Mastiffs.   He was involved  in Mastiff Rescue of Florida.   He loved his animals. He was always known as Digby's Dad...and shared his bed with Tyson and Suga.

He is survived by his wife Pam, 2 daughters  Hillary Campbell and  Katy Ward and a grandaughter Haley.   A son n law , Colin Campbell , his niece Suzanne Campbell and an adopted son Juan Johns.
