Robert Lewis Vaught, Sr., 82 of Stuart went to be with the Lord Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home with family members by his side.
Robert was born in Jackson, Mississippi and has resided in Stuart for 34 years, coming from Miami, FL.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict era. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Robert was a land surveyor and owned R. L. Vaught and Associates. He worked until three weeks ago.
Robert was a member of Tropical Farms Baptist Church of Stuart.
He was a family man and enjoyed keeping up with his grandchildren. Over the years he and his wife would travel to watch some of the granddaughters play softball.
Robert was a Miami Dolphin and University of Miami fan.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan; loving children, Judi Vaught, Lori Penna (husband, Bob) Robert L. Vaught, Jr. (wife, Jela), John Vaught (wife, DeDe) and Richard Vaught (wife, Janelle); 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A Wake will be held 4 PM to 6PM, Friday, November 27, 2015 at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home in Stuart. The Funeral Service will be at 9:30 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart with military honors provided by the U. S. Army.
