Mr. Roger Bruce Meade, 91, former long time resident of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away in Concord, North Carolina on October 11, 2015. Roger was born in Newark, New York on February 10, 1924 to Frederick and Winifred (Pettingill) Meade.
Roger graduated from State University of New York at Cortland and later from the University of Pennsylvania from their physical therapy program. Roger served as an officer in the Marines during World War II and the Korean War.
He married his wife Evelyn (Ridick) on July 2, 1950 and moved to Huntington, New York. Roger spent his working career as a physical therapist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Northport, New York. He was the chief of physical therapy at the VA for over thirty years. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Evelyn moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida, where they resided for twenty-nine years. They moved a few years ago to be near their daughters in Concord.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Evelyn; his two daughters, Nancy Hale and husband, Robert and Susan Field; and three grandchildren, Kristen Hale, Eric Field and Ryan Field.
