Ruth H. Shimp, 96 of Nettles Island, Jensen Beach, FL passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
Born February 13, 1920 in Milford, CT, she was the daughter of Harvey and Ella (nee Rood) Heilman. She moved to Nettles Island in 1990, coming from Hobe Sound.
Ruth had been an executive secretary much of her life and worked in banking. She retired as a Vice President of the former First Bank of Jupiter-Tequesta.
Ruth was a member of Nettles Island Church. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, James R. Dusenbery and wife Barbara and Henry Dusenbery and wife Ann; grandchildren, Amy Kratt, Sonya Goddard, Benjamin Dusenbery and Samuel Dusenbery; great grandchildren, Kayla Goodine, Lexus Goddard, Bailey Kratt, Cameron Kratt and Cassandra Kratt; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Goodine, Jacob Dusenbery and Audrey Dusenbery.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Dusenbery and George Shimp.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Nettles Island Church (meeting in the Rec Hall).
