Sarah E. Girard, 86, was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 4, 1940, and entered the loving embrace of our Lord on September 21, 2026, in Stuart, FL. 

Nicknamed “Sally,” she was the youngest of five siblings born to Thomas and Lillian McSteen. Sally graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and went on to earn an associate degree from Duquesne University. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, John C. Girard of Spring Lake, NJ. Together, they welcomed six children and eleven grandchildren. 

Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, her parents, her four siblings, and her grandson, Daniel Girard. She is survived by her children: Michael Girard and his wife Karen (parents of Hayley and John); Megan Girard and her partner Pat Rizzo (mother of Ryan, Tierney, and Tyler Clark); David Girard (father of Daniel, Matthew and Jack); Holly Haskin (mother of Jonah Haskin); Timothy Girard (father of Sam and Mia); and Chris Girard and his partner LuLu Julian. 

Once their children were raised, Sally returned to school to earn a bachelor’s degree and her license in interior design. After retirement, she and John settled in Jupiter, FL, where they became avid golfers and active residents of the Jonathan’s Landing community. Sally and John traveled the world and shared many unique experiences, yet they still found the most happiness spending time with their cherished friends and family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home in Stuart, FL, on Saturday, October 17th at 12:00 PM.
