Saundra (SanDee) Sue Greene
Celebrating a life that touched so many
On November 10, 2017, God called a Beautiful Angel - Saundra ("SanDee") Sue Greene -home to Heaven. She was 76 and lived in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. She lived her life with a unique energy and optimism that made an indelible impact on everyone she touched. SanDee was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia; the daughter of the late Clair N. Rardon, and Alberta I. White. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Ann (Dyer), and family.
She attended three years at Parkersburg Nursing College and was married to the love of her life, Harold L. Greene, for 54 years. Together they raised - as she so proudly declared - "three perfect children," Kelly, Kippy, and Kyle, who together, blessed them with eight "four-legged furry grandchildren." She loved and admired each one as if they were her own children.
SanDee was so very special with her own qualities and loved nature. Her passion and delight for animals and nature was rivaled only by her genuine care and love for her husband and family, as well as the people she met along the wonderful path that was her life.
She spent much of her time in her flower garden enjoying her ducks, squirrels, pigeons, frogs, turtles, bunnies, birds of all colors, and butterflies, for which she gave each a name. Dr. Doolittle had nothing on her! Together, she and her husband shared a passion for saving the Monarch Butterfly from extinction. Just like the wonderful wife and mother she was, it was important to her to ensure each Monarch Butterfly was provided with the very best outcome.
"Death is like the Birth of a Butterfly." As in the Birth of the Butterfly, a new energy emerges that is headed on a wonderful journey to a different dimension. If you listen very quietly you will hear the gentle beating of wings as they catch the wind on their final journey to touch the face of God. Her beautiful wings have guided her home.
SanDee requested a private service and interment. The family wishes to thank all of those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation as her brother-in-law is in the final stages of this unrelenting disease.
