Shawn Alexander Mitchell, 46, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016.. Shawn was born on September 2, 1969 to Robert and Mary Mitchell in Rockledge, Florida and preceded in death by his father.

Shawn was the much loved husband of Kathy Mitchell who he met at the tender age of nineteen and who had their 15th wedding anniversary on May 13, 2016. Shawn will forever be remembered by his loyal brother Jim Remaley and his husband Alex and his cherished children Chase, Mackenzie, and Megan and caring in-laws Bill and Jane McMillen and Gary and Stacy Shapiro along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.

Shawn graduated from Spanish River High School, swam competitively for Mission Bay Swim Team and attended 2 years at Palm Beach Community College. Shawn's true passion was horticulture and fishing and he owned his own landscaping business, Creative Instincts, for over 16 years and was known nationally as the Plant Wizard.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida 34994, (772) 287-1985.
