Shirley T. Tunks, 62, of Hobe Sound, Florida passed away Friday, June 3 peacefully at her home.
She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island May 23, 1954. Shirley moved to Hobe Sound, Florida in 1993 where she resided throughout the rest of her life.
Ms. Tunks was a firm believer in enjoying life, and just plain old "having fun." She enjoyed watching Major League baseball, and was a lifetime New York Yankees fan. She was a devoted mother and never missed a day at the beach whenever possible. Shirley was the prime example of a true "Floridian" wearing flip flops and tank tops on a daily basis.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bryan and Kerry Smith of Port St, Lucie, Florida; her granddaughter Riley Smith; and her fianc Donald Miller. Ms. Tunks was preceded in death by her father, Roland Peloquin; and her mother; Theresa Niewiecki.
The memorial service, Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held this Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hobe Sound beach @ 530 pm.
