IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stuart G.
Clark
May 14, 1935 – February 21, 2022
After a long and courageous fight, Stuart George Clark passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the age of 86 years old. His daughters Jackie, Jane, Julie and Joanne were by his side.
Stuart was born to Harold Jesse and Ada May (Bacon) Clark in Nottingham, England, where he grew up on their farm with his brothers, Harold and Maurice. In 1952, at the age of 17, he boarded a ship, crossed the Atlantic, and landed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with his eldest brother, Harold where they initially lived in boarding houses and worked odd jobs. Within a few years, Stuart moved to Toronto, Ontario where he began his career working in the insurance industry and eventually opened his own insurance agency. This is where he met Ingeborg, who became his "Girl". They eventually married in 1958, started their family and spend 60 happy years together. As time passed, Stuart realized he was not fond of the cold northern weather, so in 1973 he relocated his family to South Florida, where he resided for 49 years.
Stuart was best known and loved for his salesmanship, charming personality, generosity and sense of humor. Although he loved to travel and would regularly jog and bike ride, his biggest enjoyment was spending time with Ingeborg, his 4 daughters, and extended family. Nothing made him happier than gathering together for a meal or just playing a good game of cards. As long as he could watch over, provide for and protect his loved ones, he was content; and they are the better for it.
Stuart is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and his wife, Ingeborg. He is survived by his 4 daughters, Jackie (Bill) Thompson, Jane (Eugene) Gerlica, Julie White, Joanne Loesch; 8 grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson, Ashley Jones, Erin Gerlica, Jeffrey Gerlica, Ryan Pantelakis, Steven Pantelakis, Kyle Loesch and Cameron Loesch, and 4 great-grandchildren, Jack Hargrave, Laura Hargrave, Patrick (Jake) Jones and Chelsea Jones.
A private Celebration of Life will be held with family.
Stuart's family would like express their sincere thanks to the staff at The Gardens of Port St. Lucie ALF and Treasure Coast Hospice for their love and care during his emotional journey. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice at www.treasurehealth.org in Stuart's name. This act of memorializing his life is greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to share a remembrance or message of condolence with the family through this online guestbook.
