Terry "Flat Top" Neil Thiel, 69, of Port St Lucie, Florida, entered into our Lord's care on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 11:45pm with family by his side, after three months of struggling with cancer, while residing at Harbor Place Assisted Living Facility in Port Saint Lucie.

Terry was born in Middletown, Ohio, on November 6, 1945. He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Intrepid from August 1963 till November 1966, with an occupation in Telecommunications. He and his family moved to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1976, where he worked as an Operating Engineer for the Saint Lucie Power Plant with Local Union #487.

Surviving are his former wife of forty years, Brenda Warmouth Thiel of Port Saint Lucie; his son, Shawn Eric Thiel and wife, Maria Echeverri Thiel of Port Saint Lucie; three grandchildren, Austin Michael Thiel, Ariana Rose Thiel and Ashton Lee Thiel of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; one brother, Gordon Eugene Thiel and wife, Marsha Thiel of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry had a love for the water, fishing and diving off the Treasure Coast area and Lake Okeechobee. He named his boat "Yo Bubba" where he caught Sailfish, Wahoo, Dolphin, many Speckled Perch and diving for Florida lobster. He spent many weekends with his friends and family picnicking on a local island in the inner costal waterway. Terry was known by his many friends as an easy going guy with simplistic needs, who loved to tell stories, cook ribs in his smoker and sharing his liquid apple pie. After retiring, from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Terry became an officer for the VFW Post # 10066 located in Jensen Beach, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 8th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the VFW Post #10066, located at 1805 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.
