Thea Janette Maher, 55, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home in Spanish Lakes.
Born in Rockville Centre, New York, Thea grew up in Deer Park, Long Island, New York, where she was a graduate of Deer Park High School, Class of 1979. She had been a resident of Florida for twenty years, coming from Medford, New York and was a resident of Port Saint Lucie the last five years, coming from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband and Army Veteran, Kevin Maher.
She is survived by her children, Jayson, Jenna, and Justin Bergin, all of Wellington, Florida; her parents, Piet and Gloria DeVries of Port Saint Lucie; two brothers, John DeVries and his wife, Karen of Jensen Beach, Florida, and Ronald DeVries and his wife, Jerilyn of Port Saint Lucie.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida with Reverend David Dangerfield, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
