Thomas William Weitemeyer, 78, of Ocean Breeze Park in Jensen Beach, Florida died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, Florida.

Born in New York City, New York, he had been a resident of Ocean Breeze for six years, coming from Sarasota, Florida.

Prior to his retirement he was a Groom in the Thoroughbred Horse Racing Circuit in the United States, travelling thru out the country. He was well known at Hialeah Park, Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, Pimlico, home of the Preakness, Santa Anita, Aqueduct, and Belmont Park, home of the Belmont Stakes.

Tom has no immediate family, however, his friends and neighbors, Albert and Joyce Groover, of Jensen Beach, and Wooster, Ohio, were closer to him than any family member.

Services and Interment will be private from the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory of Stuart.
