Tommy J. Wood, 68, of Jensen Beach, Florida, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his home.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he had been a resident of Jensen Beach, for eight years, coming from Dallas, Texas.
Tommy was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, honorably serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force, and prior to his retirement, he was employed by Trans World Airlines in their Cedar Rapids, and Saint Louis locations.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy J. Young-Wood, of Jensen Beach; two daughters, Tammi J. Wood (Rick Harris), of Marion, Iowa, and Tasha J. Egan (David), also of Marion; one son, Ryan P. Wood, of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Jerry Wood (Jan), of Swisher, Iowa, and Larry Wood, of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Kerry Sue Dloughy (David), of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Austin, Amber, Katie, Joshua, Kara, and Emma; two great-granddaughters, Karli, and Kaylee; and his two favorite feline companions, "Clover" and "Fidget".
A Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.
Contributions as a memorial may be made to Pets Peace of Mind (PTOM) of the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997.
