Obituary

Walter J. (Ace) Krus, Jr. of Stuart, FL passed away on 2/24/2021 at his home.

Ace was born on the 4 th of July in 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, he began vacationing in Stuart in 1977, became a Snowbird in 1992 & a permanent resident in 2004, leaving Sterling Hts., MI.

Ace served in the Army during the Korean War as a baker on a warship & built roads in Germany & France.  He worked as  a plant manager for various acetylene gas companies. He coached his kids' sports teams, was a Pack Leader for Boy Scouts, an usher at St. Matthias Catholic Church, & an avid hunter, fisherman, camper, card player & slot machine enthusiast.  Meme's recipe for Papa's freshly caught Pompano was legendary!

He will be so missed by his loving children, Karen (Kurt) Zabaglo Chatham, Walt (Margaret) Krus, & Kimberly (Ken) Shadlak.  His adored grandchildren, Kyle Shadlak, Alana Zabaglo & Kurtis Shadlak. His special bonus grandchildren & great-grandchildren and the in laws he loved as family, Edward Page, Jr., Stella (Ed) Vojtush and Angie (Bob) Crabb, along with his many nieces, nephews & family friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Laura. His parents, Walter & Helen Krus.  Parents in law, Ed & Angie Page.  Siblings, Richard (Stephanie) Krus, Geraldine (Jim) Michalski, Marlene (Bill) Conway, & Teresa (Tom) Kahanak.  In law family, Rose Marie (Don) Fomish, Catherine (Ray) Godlewski.

Due to Covid, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
